Ellen's Corset and Gown

A bride and groom married in France - she is wearing a corsetted gown with a cupped corset, column dress, and detachable train in ivory duchess satin

I loved working with my bride Ellen to realise her dream gown.

Obviously, all brides have a specific vision for their day, how they want to express themselves, how they want to look, but Ellen’s vision was extremely clear and meticulously researched. This made my job a little easier because she was so clear on what she wanted, even though some details changed over the time we created the gown.

Ellen’s gown consisted of a cupped corset, column skirt, and detachable train. Ellen finished the whole look with a silk chiffon scarf.

The embroideries were done by Jenny King and were designed after some family heirlooms which originated from Ellen’s grandmother who was not able to be at the wedding.

I complemented these embroideries by using a floral vintage coutil to line the corset. Thus, our bride had something old, something new, something blue.

The whole gown was made from Duchess silk satin with a silk habatoi lining. Absolutely fitting for gorgeous Ellen and her glamorous French wedding.
