Custom Corsets - Your Guide on the Options Available

A custom corset is a good option if you don’t have the occassion, desire or budget to go fully bespoke. When you choose a style from our corset catalogue, you can choose the colours you want, and the corset will be made to your personal measurements. For overbust styles, we throw in a free toile and fitting just to make sure you get a bespoke fit.

Many people can be quite bamboozled by the choice available, so I’ve set this page up to help you customise your corset. There are lots of options to choose from - over 90 shades of silk, and a wide choice of metal colours and fasteners and if you can’t see what you’re looking for, please do get in touch.

How to Customise your Corset

1. Choose your style from the options given

2. From the drop down list, you’ll be able to choose the type of fabric, and the broad colour; silk is the more expensive option

3. Add the item to the cart

4. Upon checkout, you will be directed to a form which will give you all the further options for your corset. Here you can insert your measurements, colour choices for fabric and fastners, and any other details.

MEASUREMENTS

You can choose from Ready to Wear Sizes in all underbust styles, or custom sizes in all styles.

Ready to Wear sizes are made from an existing size chart. Our RtW corsets have a fit that is second to none - I am so confident of my fit system, that each RtW corset comes with a 7 day return guarantee if the fit isn’t right for you.

Made to measure corsets are made in your unique size and are exclusive to each client. There is space to insert your measurements in the check-out form - you will need bust, underbust, waist, hip and spine measurements to hand when ordering.

CORSETRY FABRIC

RtW and Custom Corsets are available in a range of fabrics, as per the individual listings.

Coutil is a specialist fabric made especially for corsetry and we have a wide range of patterns in stock. Coutil is either 100% cotton, or Cotton with a viscose pattern. Bone casings, and waist tape will be colour co-ordinated with your choice.

Silk corsets are made from silk satin fused to plain cotton coutil. There is a wide range of colours available. Many people choose silk corsets for lingerie due to the ‘slip’ factor, making clothes glide easily over.

CORSETRY HARDWARE

Corsets must have a front closure and a lacing system at the back. You are able to choose from a busk or zipper for the front opening/closure. The busk/zipper can be in silver, gold, or black, and you can choose to have matching (or not!) eyelets.

You can even choose to have the metal boning in your corset replaced with synthetic whalebone - if this is the option you would like, you will need to email separately, but it’s absolutely no problem!

COLOUR

All colours of all fabrics available are shown on the product listing, however, if there is a fabric or colour which is not shown, please do get in touch. You can even supply your own fabric subject to suitability. Other fabrics can include:

• dupion silk or taffetta

• Printed cottons

• Wool tweed or suiting

EMBELLISHMENTS FOR YOUR CORSET

All custom corsets can be embellished - I have lots of lace and trims in stock, or you can provide these. Choose anything or nothing from the following options:

• French couture lace

• Beaded lace

• Studs or spikes

• Crystals

• External bone casings

• Flossing

• A modesty panel (covers the spine at the back of the corset)

• Different bindings
