Front fastner
*
There are a range of options for the front of the corset
Flat front - no opening at the front - this is popular for bridal corsetry
Split busk fastner - the traditional type of front fastener with a clasp mechanism
Zipper - a modern option, zipper tapes can match your chosen fabric in a choice of metal finsihes
Back fastening
*
The back fastening for a corset is usually a lacing system which is absolutely necessary to create shape. There are some alternatives which vary in complexity.
Regular - this is the standard type of corset back closure
Hiden lacing system - useful for when a nickel or metal allergy is present
Fan Lacing - a complex lacing system which fastens at the front
Strap closure - a little known antique system which has limitations for shape
Boning options
*
All JB Corsets are made with top quality steel components made in Europe. The standard boning arrangement is for one steel bone on each seam, a front busk and flat steels either side of the eyelets at the back panels
Standard boning - a bone on each seam
Double boning - double bones on each seam
Double boning, evenly spaced - a bone on each seam plus one in the middle of each panel
Fully boned - boning placed at every point on the waist and extending over the bust and hips - this makes a very heavy corset with a particular look
Back support - extra bones at the back of the corset for back support
