2017 - A fresh start
After years of consternating over my fourth brand, I decided to scrap it! The name Clessidra just wasn't working for me or the product. Clessidra is Italian for 'hourglass' and as I favour Italian style above all others, it seemed to fit with my own aesthetic quite well - and it still does - glamorous, elegant, simply stylish. But the word just isn't memorable and people simply forgot it and referred back to my default 'Sew Curvy'. Which is fine. It's who I am and what i'm known for. With three other 'Sew Curvy' brands to consider, I decided simply to amalgamate the design side into those as they are so co-dependant that it suddenly seemed like a waste of energy to try to separate them. Most people know me as Sew Curvy and that is also where most of my clients find me. So ... Sew Curvy Couture it is with my name (Julia Bremble) being the focal point.
As a technician obsessed with fit, comfort and line, I wanted this to be more apparent in the way I presented the website, my work and aesthetic. There are many corset makers out there, fewer corsetieres, and even fewer who will spend days, months and years obsessing over minute details in patterns in order to achieve the perfect shape. I can do bling with the best of them. But my true calling, is in the technical details. What makes a corset work so that it is comfortable, and beautiful, whilst modifying the body smoothly and cleanly into the clients perfect shape?
